Battersea coal-fired power station was built between 1929 and following a pause during the second world war, completed in 1955.
In fact two separate, virtually identical stations, Battersea A was closed in 1975 with Battersea B following in 1983. Declared a heritage site in 1980, it's development as an indoor high street and 254 apartments was completed four decades later in 2022.
